The Action4Commons research teams gathered in Tampere for our consortium meeting focused collaboration and knowledge exchange. The meeting kicked off informally at Tampere University premises, which provided an opportunity for us to reconnect and share updates on the latest research developments. After lunch at the University restaurant, we moved to the scenic Kaupinojan sauna, where we delved into recent progress on our project and continued with presentations and discussions.

In the afternoon, Professor Rajat Panwar from Oregon State University joined us virtually to present his recent research on corporate biodiversity strategies and to share insights from his latest publications. Earlier this year, members of the Action4Commons project discussed shared research interests with him at the IABS2024 and AOM2024 conferences, and we see potential for future collaboration with him. Rajat will also be a keynote speaker at the Responsible Business Research Conference in March 2025.
Professor Rajat Panwar’s presentation on corporate biodiversity strategies and his recent research highlighted shared research interests with the Action4Commons consortium, sparking thought-provoking discussions.
A joint dinner provided an opportunity for further discussion on Rajat’s ideas and their relevance to our work. The exchange of ideas helped to clarify links between his research and the direction of the Action4Commons research consortium.
The second day of the meeting was devoted to free-form discussion, which was useful for generating new ideas and approaches. A few short presentations were made, followed by an open session that led to the exploration of new research directions.
Overall, the meeting was productive, laying the groundwork for future collaborations within the Action4Commons teams. We look forward to further discussions, including those that will take place at the YHYS2024 Annual Colloquium in Lappeenranta in November 2024.
